This is a nice article from the guys at Babypips.com that we posted at our Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/FXstreet/posts/304213369677960?notif_t=like
We got a lot of feed-back about it from our Facebook fans, but no doubt one that really surprised us... here it goes:
John Long Treat losses like ur ex wife. You know u have to see her. But you want to make it as little as possible and as short as possible. But when u do see her you're nice to her cause she can release the Kraken if your not!
Shocking right?

Treating Loss as a Close Friend
by BabyPips.com
In life, there are ups and downs. There are times when the good things just seem endless and you feel invincible. But there are also be occasions when you feel that everything is going against you.
This happens in forex trading as well, but it comes in the form of winning and losing. Winning and losing are a constant in forex trading, but there are some traders, most especially the new ones, who can only handle the former.
Winning is all they can cope with, and they consider losing as unacceptable. This kind of mindset is unhelpful, destructive, and even self-defeating.

Comment by 2ndSkiesForex on August 16, 2012 at 10:06pm Hello Francesc,
Wow - what a really distasteful statement about the ex-wife. Interesting the statement demonizes the woman, but forgets he also chose to marry her in the first place which means he's partially responsible for such an ignorant decision and failed outcome.
Rarely ever are bad relationships the fault of just one person so statements like this which demonize one party (women in this case) do not help promote healthy relationships between men and women.
Sure, we are in a mostly male dominated field here in trading, but that does not mean we have to have disrespectful comments about women and ex-wives here.
Imagine if all the women started talking about and laughing how most of them fake orgasms (since men don't really please them the way they want). I'm sure that wouldn't feel good to most men, but hey, why not since we are in the habit of disrespecting people.
Food for thought, but I'd rather not talk badly about any one sex or party here which will not help promote healthy relationships between men and women.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Comment by Steve Patterson on August 17, 2012 at 12:01am When I saw this article I was afraid to read it because I just went through 2 divorces in 5 years I'm glad I did though because it made me laugh. I much rather lose 20 trades in a row then go through another divorce I can tell you that much :)
Comment by Francesc Riverola on August 17, 2012 at 3:40pm Guys... I am sorry for having hurt feelings of many of you with this blog post... it was not my intention to hurt anyone not to be disrespectful with those of you that have had to face a divorce in the past... I just found out shocking and funny at the same time the definition the guy did so I thought to share it here with you all... apologies ;(
Comment by Peter jcp on August 17, 2012 at 3:51pm Yes difficult one - as I laughed at the statement and joked in another blog that if you treat your losses like your ex wife - why not treat you winnings on your new 24 yrs old girlfriend ;-)
If my wife read that she would clip me around the ear and then take the mickey out of my "6 pack" being in the fridge rather than still on my stomach ;-)
I guess Chris is quite right on this as it is disrespectful - even if only in a joking manner.
And Steve - I think you need a "gold medal" surviving 2 divorces in 5 years. I do hope you meet your "soul partner" and live happily ever after ;-))
Comment by Keith Shaw on August 17, 2012 at 5:12pm An Interesting Observation Francesc, the guys that were once married and still are did find your post funny. Funny That :o))
Regarding Chris's comments "Imagine if all the women started talking about and laughing how most of them fake orgasms (since men don't really please them the way they want)"
Now that did make me laugh [is that just an American thing ? :0) ] Perhaps Chris has personal experiences and the Quantitative Data from his 'research' to support his thesis. :o))
@Lisa, as Greek legend has it my picture shows Perseus holding the decapitated head of Medusa to defeat the Kraken and save the lovely Andromeda who was tied to the sacrificial rock.
Andromeda was said to be more beautiful than the sea nymphs (Neriads) which Poseiden wasn't to happy about, anyway they all lived happily ever after.... :o))
@Steve, Trading can seriously Damage your Marriage :o))
@Peter, love your thinking :o))
ANYWAYS it's Friday the weekend is upon us, so here's some excellent laughter therapy for everyone. TRY IT, YOU CAN'T HELP BUT LAUGH .
Y'ALL Have A Great Weekend !!!

You have been thorough in your research [I expect nothing less, isn't google wonderful ;) ] .
Given your interest and deep understanding perhaps we may see an article from you on this subject in the near future ?
Rob Booker has a few pod casts that you and others may find interesting. Not sure if Rob is SpiriTuaL but he certainly doesn't take life as seriously as others in this wonderful business, aside from the fun and catchy pod cast titles there is an EducaTioNal element to his pod casts . EnJoY

PS
My wife was screaming at me: "Leave! Get out of this house!" she ordered.
As I was walking out the door she yelled, "I hope you die a slow and painful death!"
I turned around and replied, "So now you want me to stay?"
