ForexTicket Next Step: Becomming a Financial Portal is the Right Step?

very interesting... it looks like Arnaud is thinking in taking the same way Forexpros.com took and become a financial portal.... I see pros and cons on this strategy, all will depend on how it is executed.

Forexticket, next step
by Arnaud Jeulin at ForexTicket.co.uk
I’ve had the impression for some time that I’ve left Forexticket website to continue on its way without managing to improve its growth.   Suddenly I feel like I’m standing still….and that’s not good for my motivation.  As often happens, or indeed as always happens, it took me a while to get to grips with this problem.  But as I turned it around in my head, I managed to put together a plan to kick start my motivation:   let’s put together the means to get the website to the top, not just of the foreign exchange websites, but of the worldwide financial websites…It’s quite a challenge to take on the likes of Yahoo! Finance, money.cnn.com and Bloomberg.  But since nothing is impossible in the virtual world, I think that we’ve got a chance of nipping at their heels and if we’ve got a chance we grab it.  To do this I’m going to have to motivate myself and find the means to do it.

Hi Francesc,

I don't consider Forexticket as a portal, I build trading tools for me and I share them with traders.

It will take months (maybe years) to do what I what to do, but I needed a new goal

Hi Arnaud

Yes you are right, I did not use the right word as Forexticket is not a portal.... There are a lot of things to consider to make a transition from a pure FX site to a Financial site. Getting on board new markets it is not synonimous of widening your audience. Being succesfull in FX does not imply that you will be in futures or binnary options and having a huge FX traffic to your site does not mean that the futures section of the site will get clicks... what I was trying to say is that having many people at the front door does not mean that they will enter visit the house.

I am talking from my own experience... we thought we could grow a big futures section on FXstreet or that we could grow an important forum and we found out that we did not.

Also, opening new markets will mean loosing focus from FX where FXticket has been and it is more and more competitive every year.

With all this bla bla bla I am just trying to say that be careful, that 2+2 does not equal to 4 sometimes :)

Yes, I launched many tools and websites which didn't work at all. I know that there is a huge risk.

The forex section of forexticket should be able to finance this project, so I'll try. And maybe 2+2 will be equal to 6 ;)

2+2=6... I like it! :)
