In the link below is a documentary of Paul Tudor Jones from way back in '87. Paul Tudor Jones is one of the great traders of our time. Primarily for me in this video, the most important thing was the humanity of Paul Tudor Jones as a trader. In the video, he takes a massive -5% loss to his fund, shakes it off, and gets back into the game. See, even the best traders take serious hits, and they get up and get back up. He talks extensively not of strategy, but psychology, and not psychology of the market, but his own psychology. He tries to do things that make him happy, he wants traders who feel the pain of a loss, but he also tries to remain aloof of it all and continue to trade. I think this video is an important lesson for all us grasshoppers looking to get into market, that losses are common to all traders, yet exactly those emotions of ups and downs, as Paul Tudor Jones says, are what unify all traders, from the greats to us grasshoppers. You take a psychological hits from your losses, but you will take hits like this 1000 times...get use to them. Don't let them get you down.
For those of you new who are reading this, watch the video, understand that your failures are part of the game. Don't let your failures discourage you. Continue to try to learn, find a group like Forexstreet.net to take you by the hand and lead you through the melee, and try to survive long enough to have the experience to actually make money from the endeavor.
