Lets take a quick look and together question the words Advice/Add Vice and what they involve:
Listening to the first random person who is prepared to talk to you and taking their words of wisdom literally?
Looking for the most expensive advice money can buy?
Follow a Guru because everyone else did?
Follow the advice from anyone or anything which is current and popular?
Read a foot note from a random forum?
Advice from reading a popular newspaper book or downloading a course and following it straight away?
Listen to the news and then follow what you have been informed?
Search for an expert to speak to?
Look for the best presentation, biggest brightest smartest advertising campaign and then buy in to it straightaway?
Telephone your broker for advice about what position you should take?
And so on.
Although the aformentioned seemed more like "Add Vice" to me which although sounds exactly like "Advice" it has a completely different meaning and result. "Add Vice" meaning to add a bad habit.
Or should one:
Study, train, experience, research, test, Examine, fact find, take for a test drive, attempt to live with, question and so on?
Look - Listen - Learn
Ear's an idea for you. This is a self Test Lesson for anyone who feels the need to explore and experiment with. It is not a test validated by Mensa but it can be carried out with the minimum time, fuss, equipment and expenditure before even attempting to open a trading account, investing your hard earned for courses and/or software products.
Let us begin this test to see how bright you really are.
Test 1: Look
Stand up with a torch in your right hand and push it against you right ear if you have one (Left Ear if right ear not available). *Go to Test 3 if both ears are not available.
*If you can see the light shining on the adjacent wall then go home now and end of test.
Stand by a busy motorway with a blindfold around your eyes. Listen to the traffic roaring by and do not step out.
*If you have already attempted to step out then I will ring an Ambulance for you right now and you will not be going home just yet.
Test 3 : Learn
Following a verbal or written instruction from someone who is using their Brain verses you will attempt this on your own anyway;
Do Not walk up to that Big Male African Lion sitting under that tree in the shade out of the Sun because you just wanted to know what his breath smelt like. Trust me when I tell you it stinks like rotten meat whether Pig or Cow or something else. Can I add, those flies are not buzzing around his head for no good reason : 0 )
If one ignored the above instruction and attempted to smell the Lions breath then you probably wont have your head still attached to your shoulders and be able to describe it or advise anyone else at this point.
* Will not be able to go home and test failed miserably.
Moral of this Story;
"Advice is everywhere, it is all around us, even now in this very room. You can see it when you look out of your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work, when you go to Church, when you pay your taxes, it is the World that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the Truth".
Good luck to all and let me know your scores if you can ; 0 )
Best Regards,
Sir Gissachance (PPND)

Comment by Keith Shaw on March 10, 2013 at 9:27pm Some sound advice dear chap . . .
A wise old owl lived in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?
Comment by Peter jcp on March 10, 2013 at 10:04pm Hi Sir Gissa - I tried the first test in a very dark room - and my daughter said she could see the light coming out of my right ear when she held up a torch to my left ear ;-). That's worrying me now - but I think she tricked me by using two torches ;-))
And yes I take your advice that the African's lion's breath would smell - our dog's does after he's had a chicken and liver meal - and funny enough - my wife's does after she has had a chicken vindaloo curry ;-)))
Have a great week - and with it being the 13th on Wednesday see if you can crack over 2k pips as well ;-)
Regards
Peter
