Hello Traders and Community Members,
As many of you know, Philanthropy is something that I am involved in globally across various organizations, programs, and platforms.
One of the major platforms I have been using to help have an impact on others globally is Kiva (Kiva.org). Through Kiva, you can find small businesses in 2nd and 3rd world countries where someone has a business and idea to build a better life for themselves, but not the resources.
This is where I come in - to help share and provide resources, so they can build a better life for themselves and their familes.
One of my major goals when starting back in 2009 was to get to 500+ loans across 50+ countries worldwide, and we just blew past that today.

I am very grateful for what I have in my life through trading. At a very young age, I learned from my father how helping those in need, and being generous can have a major impact on a person's life.
I hope you can participate in such a great platform to have a global impact in such a personal way. Below is a link and invitation should you so desire to participate through Kiva:
http://www.kiva.org/invitedby/2ndskiesforex/for/472174
My main focus so far has been in bringing resources and education, mostly resources to 3rd world countries where they have so little, and education to 2nd world countries.
I just found out about a brilliant and new platform, specifically for education called Vittana (Vittana.org). What is amazing about Vittana is they show you how much the receiver's income will change through getting their education/degree, and what kind of financial impact it will have on their lives. What an amazing way to help those, who want to help others, by offering them the chance to get an education they could not on their own.
Feel free to take a look at that one as well as I hope someone here will join these efforts to help others globally.
Trading as an industry has such a bad reputation being full of greedy self-centered people. Although this is true in many cases, I believe there are good people in this industry who want to do more than just accumulate wealth for their own purposes, but want to help others. If any of you feel abundant in your life both energetically and materially, I hope you can also participate and make an impact on another persons life.
As always, I wish you all the best and may the quality of all life increase for all.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Comment by Peter jcp on September 20, 2012 at 8:15pm Very good sentiment and congratulations at achieving your target of 500+ Loans over 50 countries and assisting those who need help in some way. I agree with you that those who have been fortunate and well blessed in life should try and help and assist all of those who may need a little help up the "ladder of life" - WD.
Comment by 2ndSkiesForex on September 20, 2012 at 8:32pm Hello Peter,
Thank you kindly.
I hope you can join one of those platforms and be a part of it as well.
"ladder of life" - very cool.
Also thanks to any members that have joined 2ndSkiesForex. I take a decent chunk of the revenue from there and apply it to these programs, so thanks go to them as well.
All the best.
Chris
Comment by Keith Shaw on September 20, 2012 at 9:09pm Hi Chris,
Kiva is a great organisation.
Regarding the industry and greedy and self centered people : I think Michael Lewis picks upon a very important point that we all tend to miss or ignore in the busy world we live in.
Michael Lewis, a member of Princeton's Class of 1982 and author of such books as "Liar's Poker" and "Moneyball," speaks at the 2012 Baccalaureate in a speech called "Don't Eat Fortune's Cookie."
Just in case you missed it :
"Don’t be deceived by life’s outcomes, life’s outcomes while not entirely random have a huge amount of luck baked into them. Above all recognise that if you’ve had success you’ve also had luck and with luck comes obligation, you owe a debt and not just to your gods, you owe a debt to the unlucky"
All the best
Keith

What a great speech - thank you for sharing. Its funny when he said there was a 4th cookie, my first thought was, 'give it to the rest of the group or another group'.
I like how he tied it into the current Wall Street culture - how they feel they are 'entitled' to their extra cookies. It just shows how much confusion there is in that culture as a whole. I know some really good people there, but many more are highly confused and incredibly toxic.
But thank you for sharing this speech - reminds me of a lot.
@Lisa,
May all cups continue to run-eth over.
Kind Regards,
Chris

time flies :)
Comment by 2ndSkiesForex on September 21, 2012 at 2:07pm Yes, very long time ago. In fact, I think it was around the first year the site started up, but time flies for sure.
I also think its interesting that a site I visited so many years ago I would end up working with.
You never know what things will turn into in life.
