Why are you holding that drawdown?

What do I want to do as a trader?

I want to make money.

how can I make money trading?

I can buy when prices are going to go up and sell when prices are going to go down

What makes price go up?

If there are more buyers than sellers

How can I know if there are more buyers than sellers?

Price is higher than it used to be

Why are you holding that…

Indy's reading list

Hello Everyone,

Like alot of people who trade for a living, I am a bit of an information junkie. Every day I read a huge amount of information on the markets, I have links to twitter feeds and check in on various websites, (like this one), to help gauge sentiment on whats going on.  Most of the information is either irrelevant or transitory in its relevance but occasionally i read an article that I think has lasting value.

I am just starting this blog to share some of these…

Entries determine losses but exits determine profits

Hello everyone

I was just wondering if anyone wanted to talk about exits as I am of the opinion that 'Entries determine losses but exits determine profits' and for me a discussion of exits would be the most helpful. Unfortunately I do not have a really good answer to this exit question which is why I am asking. most of the blogs etc talk a lot about entries which is what most people worry about. which is also logical as the entries are what determine losses but as it is the…

pendant trading dicussion

Hello everyone,

I haven't been too busy on here lately so thought it may be time come in and talk about what I am working on atm and a few other  general trading things. Has the Eur/Usd trend changed?

Hello everyone,

The eur/usd has had quite a big selloff this week and I see around the internet lots of people chattering about wether  this is a trend change or not. with a split between the 2 opinions it can be a bit confusing.  I am not going to answer this question but I am going to suggest an exercise that people can try if they want.

its quite a simple one. The aim of which is not to give you any trades but just to help you take a step back for a minute and look at the…

Trend or counter trend?

Theres been a bit on here lately about trend trading, personally I have never been a big fan of the labels trend following or counter trend trading.

A short time ago I took this trade, I'm not going to say much right now, (I'm a bit busy trying to trade ATM and unlike our favourite posters here I am no good at blogging and trading simultaneously, I don't know how they do it). but heres a few charts to look over, I would be interested to hear some comments.

I'll come back later…

How do the Chinese trade?

Hi,

So I don't know where this thought came from, it just sort of popped into my head while sitting here waiting for the moves which seem to occur rather erratically at the moment. but is struck me as something I should find out. I have heard that ichimoku is particularly effective on JPY pairs because it is a form of analysis that is more popular in Japan. As China continues to grow as a presence in the global business surely it stands to reason that Chinese trading activities will grow…

Short timeframe line trading

Hello again everyone,

Its been a while since I posted anything so heres something new. My last post was about trading using lines where I showed a trade I had taken using quite high timeframes, heres an example of a trade I just closed which was also based on simple lines but was framed off the short t/f's this is just to show that the principles of linetrading are relevant across many timeframes. hope you like it and any feedback is welcome,

So this was the trade just before…

Just a quick question to admin, or anyone else who can help. I am trying to use the chatroom but it constantly keeps jumping back to the top of the chatwindow. this makes it impossible to follow current chat or to contribute anything.any ideas how solve the problem? i was getting around this using the old chat popout window but that is not functioning atm.

Cheers,

I walk the line

so last week i started this blogpost http://www.forexstreet.net/profiles/blogs/today-i-will-mainly-be-watching-these-lines?xg_source=activity as a place to post some charts. i did say i wouldn't give trade advice and i stand by that but i figured i may as well give one example of how i trade using these charts. afterall you shouldn't talk the line if you can't walk the line.…

Today I will mainly be watching these Lines

I was just going to start this post to show people some of the lines I am watching. I am not going to say much about what to do with them, thats not what I'm about. But they may just help highlight some interesting levels that could help some people or that people may have overlooked. Hope this helps some people

Holiday reading

Now we are all getting ready for the festive season I was just wondering if anyone wants to reccommend any good books to read while digesting overlarge family meals? Any suggestions welcome either narratives or more technical trading books.

Happy holiday season everyone.
