Brian Twomey said… Hi Raj,
Your comments are always appreciated because I know your great skills and understanding in all you do.
Generally I've found a high accuracy level of capital flows to determine future market direction. The most vital aspect to monitor capital flows is the knowledge what sovereign bonds the weekly money flows. For example, if money flows into German bunds as opposed to say CHF bonds. That speaks volumes about future market direction in the upcoming week.
One point though is UK Gilts can be tricky calls in times of economic uncertainty because they change their stripes in how they trade. The change is slight but still tricky. That's why the correlation between the GBP/USD and EUR/USD changes. It can't ever be 100%. So you can confirm a GBP/USD turning point based on capital flows using maybe German bunds, or CHF bonds, or Sweden SEK bonds. Take Care Raj
