Hello everyone
I was just wondering if anyone wanted to talk about exits as I am of the opinion that 'Entries determine losses but exits determine profits' and for me a discussion of exits would be the most helpful. Unfortunately I do not have a really good answer to this exit question which is why I am asking. most of the blogs etc talk a lot about entries which is what most people worry about. which is also logical as the entries are what determine losses but as it is the…

Hello everyone,
The eur/usd has had quite a big selloff this week and I see around the internet lots of people chattering about wether this is a trend change or not. with a split between the 2 opinions it can be a bit confusing. I am not going to answer this question but I am going to suggest an exercise that people can try if they want.
its quite a simple one. The aim of which is not to give you any trades but just to help you take a step back for a minute and look at the…

Theres been a bit on here lately about trend trading, personally I have never been a big fan of the labels trend following or counter trend trading.
A short time ago I took this trade, I'm not going to say much right now, (I'm a bit busy trying to trade ATM and unlike our favourite posters here I am no good at blogging and trading simultaneously, I don't know how they do it). but heres a few charts to look over, I would be interested to hear some comments.
I'll come back later…

Peter jcp said… Hi Peter - Know the feeling - i wasted my first 2 years getting lost and not knowing how i wanted to trade. After I went full time about 3 yrs ago i have had more success shrt term trading - ideally after 7-25+ pips and trying to take 5-10 trades a day. The key Peter is studying live charts and watching time frame changes especially every hr - which can lead to the "bouncy ball" effect. I do swing and even scalp off monthly candles - but only on lot lots - but i scalp for 10-15 mins at key times for those 7-25 pips with bigger lot sizes - You will get there - but you will need patience and effort and loads of practice to become profitable every day.
Speak to you soon in chat - have a good weekend - regards Peter
Peter jcp said… Hi Indy - here is one link worth looking at - http://www.onlineforextrading.com/forex-tools/forex-charts
I personally feel you need to try at least 3 different trading platforms to see which type you like. Also please always use a minimum of 2 platforms ideally getting their feeds from different sources - so that if one platform freezes - you are aware from the other. As a day trader a platform that freezes a lot can mean you miss 3-10 mins + of info and price might have moved 30 pips against you without you knowing.
All reputable large broker paltforms are ok - but by having a second one you can have differeent set ups avaialble and you may have other indicators taht are not shown on the broker platform.
I also suggest you google a list of all free and professional sets ups like E signals and Intellicharts pro - and then try and get 7-30 free trials.
Intially you will want to keep it simple - but a syou progress the correct broker platform etc will be important for your trading and for your success. Good luck on trying a fee and as of today I use GFT uk Dealbook 360 and also intellicharts pro set ups. - regards Peter
