The talk will give the audience an overview of the recent developments of high frequency finance and explains how traders can leverage the new insights.
The talk starts with an analysis of the typical pitfalls of trading. There follows an overview of high frequency finance, a new discipline in finance. The methodology is a bottom-up approach that starts with a meticulous statistical analysis of tick-by-tick market data. In an iterative process models of financial markets are developed. The new discipline has paved the way for new scientific discoveries that revolutionize the our understanding of financial markets.
We will continue with an overview of the key discoveries: the financial markets are a dynamic system that is in ongoing motion without a point fixed. To trade markets successfully is necessary to understand the pace of the market, its natural rate of change. Successful traders can make money, if they learn to identify exceptional price moves and handle the onset of cascading margin calls.
Research of market behavior has brought to light that the frequently erratic market behavior that confounds fundamentals is a result of cascading margin calls. The excess confidence of traders in their ability to predict a particular price move leads to excessive leverage. Minor price shocks with in the adverse direction leads to margin calls, whereby traders have to close their losing positions further increasing the imbalance of supply and demand fueling a continuation of the price move. The talk closes with an overview of the key decision rules that are necessary for a trader to be successful.
In this presentation David will walk you through the technical tools he uses to evaluate major low and high points of the market for the day, week and month.
No gimmicks, simple technical analysis used almost universally in the industry. David makes using price action, market fractals and Fibonacci simple. In addition to Fibonacci and price action David also introduces some common sense logic, such as time of day use, as well as a thorough understanding of human behavior. You will be guaranteed to leave this presentation with clear rules defining buy and sell zones for your trading day and a real appreciation of what it takes to be a success in Forex.
Trading can be frustrating. Trading systems stop working, markets change, and sometimes it is difficult to be disciplined and to keep emotions in check. But what if the problem is on the chart? What if indicators are the reason why many traders find it difficult to stick with a profitable trading system? What if traders could find more consistent profits simply trading without indicators? What if trading naked for profits were possible?
Naked trading is not only possible, it is desirable for traders who want be decisive, consistent and intuitive. Naked traders become expert traders faster than those traders who use indicators. Dr. Peters will explain why many forex traders today are going naked. He will discuss why naked trading systems work, how traders can start trading naked and why naked traders have an advantage over traders who use indicator-based technical analysis.
Ed Ponsi will host a fast-paced and informative discussion about the U.S. dollar and its present course; will we have a strong U.S. dollar in 2012, or will it resume the downward trajectory of the past decade? Will the policies of the Federal Reserve lead to a falling dollar in the future? And if so, how do we profit from such an environment?
He would also like to address the harm that we inadvertently cause when we pursue an inflationary monetary policy. What has happened in other countries that have pursued such policies? He's spoken with people who have lived through currency collapses in countries as diverse as Brazil, Bulgaria, Zimbabwe, Peru, and the former USSR. Some of their stories are literally life-and-death, harrowing accounts of survival in world turned upside down, and Ed will be presenting excerpts from those interviews.
